Species: Fae
Abilites:
Class: Lady/The “Shield” of King Kheelan, the Fae King. This role is exactly like King Demen’s Shadow.
History:
Long ago, during the Dark Ages, when Fae had copied the systems of the humans and their disgraced cousins’ control over nature, Elektra Shylah Ragnvard was born to one of the first groups of Nobles, particularly a Lord and Lady in the Fae Monarchy. Her father was Lord Horus, a respected Fae who was well known for his fighting abilities, and her mother was Lady Zanthe, who was well known for her beauty. The two were proud to have their daughter and cherished her greatly.
As a child, Elektra grew up in Ironwood, hearing the stories of the “old Ironwood” when Elves governed the mystical land she now lived in. She was fascinated, wondering what exactly made Ironwood so special, so wonderful, that it had been first fought over by the Demons of Nether of the Elven of Ironwood. Elektra was also thankful that the wars started, or else she would not have lived in Ironwood when she did.
However, the childhood Elektra lived in was not as happy or as bright as she wished it to be. More wars erupted to determine which species would claim the enchanted Ironwood. She grew up without her father since he was always fighting for Ironwood’s defense. Elektra missed her father dearly, but was glad that she still had her mother, a gentle Fae who was not fit for battle.
Since her father was gone, Elektra learned how to use her powers from her mother. Eager to please, she trained hard, in hopes to show her father if he ever returned home from the wars that raged on. Of course, when Elektra failed at something, she would feel disappointed, often crying to herself. In those times of distress, her mother comforted Elektra, giving her words of encouragement while telling her how proud her father would be.
For nine years, Elektra practiced and practiced, still waiting for the day to show her father what she had accomplished. By her eleventh birthday, she had gotten her wings. The happy young Fae now was more eager to see her father. However, a few days later, news came regarding Lord Horus. He had died in battle. The details of her father’s death were vague, so all she knew was that he died a heroic death.
Both Elektra and her mother were devastated. They often hugged each other at night, crying softly into the empty home they lived in. It was on one of these nights that her power of wish granting became discovered. In her mother’s sobs, Elektra heard her say how she wished for Lord Horus to be with them. Unable to deal with her own sadness and her mother’s tears of loneliness, Elektra closed her eyes, concentrating solely on the wish her mother had made. A bright light flashed, and there beside the bed, were the disfigured remains of Elektra’s father, bound with torn red cloth with a demons claws and dagger in what looked to be the chest. Horrified, her mother looked at her daughter, knowing in some way that she had done this. Seeing this, Elektra didn’t want anyone to see her grant wishes, but the dagger and claws that were imbedded in the corpse of her father ignited the desire to fight to protect others, her mother, herself, and her species.
For years, Elektra lived with her mother. During that time, she requested to be trained by a couple friends of her father who had returned from the wars. She learned the ways of combat and was trained until her mother died from an unknown illness. With the death of her mother, Elektra became a Lady of the Fae Monarchy, a title she never cared for, and lost most of the time she had to train. Still, she lived up to her role, doing whatever she could to help the Monarchy, especially the King of Fae.
During her time as a Lady in the Fae Monarchy, there were many attempts to end King Kheelan. Many guards were killed defending the Fae King. The fourth attempt was said to be an assassin hired by demons. Upon hearing this, Elektra was reminded of her deceased father and his corpse which had the claws and dagger of an unknown demon. Now in need of a body guard, King Kheelan held a competition in which the competitors would be put through a series of tests that determined their loyalty, their skill, and their usefulness as King Kheelan’s bodyguard.
Lady Elektra signed up, feeling that was her chance to protect her king. She would prove that she could protect others, that she was more useful than just being part of Nobility. Also, deep down, she wanted to make her parents proud. She never fully felt like they had been proud to be her parents, despite her mother’s soothing words to her as a child. Perhaps, she was just in self-denial.
When she signed up, the other contestants, all being previous warriors, were appalled. They thought that an unexperienced fighter was unfit to protect the King, too weak. Elektra was discouraged and was tempted to quit before the selection process ever began. However, she remembered her desire to protect others and herself. She would not let anyone stand in that desire. With that in mind, she stayed, holding her head up high.
When the tests began, they were private, a way to keep each competitor’s abilities secret. Elektra was one of the four that had passed, and after careful consideration, she was requested to go to the castle. There, she met King Kheelan and his advisors. They explained that she was the one with the most promising abilities, and the strongest loyalty. She was offered to be King Kheelan’s body guard, or the Fae Kings’ Shield due to her Force-Field Generation ability.
Elektra has since maintained her position as King Kheelan's Shield. Any attack against the king had been successfully thwarted with little to no casualties. She has remained loyal and now believes she has made her parents proud.
Over time, Elektra and King Kheelan became friends after knowing each other for so long. She was happy when the Fae King began to see Alletta, a Dark Fae. She was happy that he was happy and that was all that mattered to Elektra. Elektra was there to see him smile and laugh. She couldn’t believe how quickly that happiness could be crushed to dust.
War broke out when Alletta was taken by the Demon King, Demen Mooning. King Kheelan and Elektra went to the front lines to fight. It was the first war Elektra was really part of. She was terrified, but couldn’t, nor didn’t, leave her king’s side. However, she felt more hatred toward the demon race. They had killed her father, ruined her life, and now had stolen her friend’s love and happiness.
Even after fighting the war, King Kheelan had to give up Alletta to King Demen. Though sickened once again about the demons twisted nature, Elektra was more worried for Kheelan. She felt as if he was sad, sad at forcing to give up his love, his happiness. Elektra never wanted to see him upset, but if he was, then she was.
When King Kheelan and his court were invited to a party, held by King Demen, around the time the King of Fae was to get married, Elektra had certain suspicions. Since when did the King of Demons throw a party for the fun of it? Never. King Demen had other intentions. However, during the ‘party’, Elektra noticed the absence of both her king and Alletta. She didn’t worry though, thinking that they must have been together. Elektra just didn’t know that it would be the last time Alletta and Kheelan were together, and the last time Alletta would have spoken to him before cutting off all her ties.
What Alletta did, seemed wrong in Elektra’s eyes. Why couldn’t she have kept contact with King Kheelan instead of just shutting him out so coldly? She didn’t understand, even after the recent news of King Kheelan’s daughter, a secret Alletta had kept from the King of Fae. Elektra thinks that Kheelan is searching for them, but why? The Fae girl, now revealed as Allaya, was demon raised. What good could come from her? Her life was chained to the Nether and nothing would change that. Then, there was Alletta, the Fae who had cut off her ties with Kheelan and kept his child a secret from him.
In recent days though, Elektra stumbled upon a rumor of a beheaded corpse in Darkbark Path, a forest with a bad reputation of thieves and mercenaries. Normally, dead bodies were uncommon in Darkbark, but this was different. In the report, the corpses back had the dagger of a demon imbedded in it, but this seemed different. She didn’t ponder over it much as she felt like she had an idea on who the corpse was. By the description of the clothes the body had, the traces of hair left, it belonged to Alletta, her king’s love. Her heart immediately sank as she thought about how to tell the king. She’d have to tell him. But would it be the right choice? She didn’t even know if the body belonged to Alletta or not. As his Shield, it was her duty to tell the king everything, to protect his life, but as his friend, it was her duty to save him from heartbreak, to protect not only him, but his heart and mind from anything that could damage them.
